The team led by Coach Rigobert Song arrived in the economic capital on Monday, and has been preparing for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) playoffs.

Cameroon will face Sao Tome and Principe home and away starting on the 12th of August 2017 in Sao Tome.

Sources in Douala say Coach Rigobert Song on Wednesday 9 August, 2017, appointed 23-year-old YOSA midfielder, Junior Awono, to replace Coton Sport defender Aaron Mbimbe as the captain of the 20-man squad that will fly to Sao Tome tonight.

Aaron Mbimbe is in Kuwait for a test match as well as another intermediate lion and Avion FC attacker Eyock Emile who left for a club Denmark.

Four of the players who had been in camp withdrew due to illness. A press conference will be granted by the Rigobert Song-led technical team this morning, and the list of the 20 players to face Sao Tome on Saturday is highly awaited.
