U-20 Lionesses Gear Up World Cup Training


The Under 20 Lionesses of Cameroon are camping at the FECAFOOT Training Centre in Odza-Yaounde, for the fourth phase of training in prelude to the 2018 FIFA U-20 World Cup in France.




The baby Lionesses started their fourth and last phase of a three week training on Monday 14 August 2017 with focus on dribbling and long shots.

According to the Coach of the U-20 Lionesses, Alain Djemfa, the training started off with forty-five players selected from the local football clubs, thirty-five were retained after the second phase and twenty-five finally called up to camp.

As training begins, the team will be reviewing winning strategies ahead of their away leg qualifier match with Guinea Conakry on 16th September 2017 in Guinea.

So far the team has played several friendlies with local teams and the technical crew hopes to organise more with international sparring partners in the near future before leaving for Guinea Conakry.

It will be the 9th FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, a biennial international football championship contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA.

Only Players born on or before 1st January 1998 are eligible to compete in the tournament. Two teams will qualify for the competition proper in France.
