2017 Women AfroBasket: Cameroon Ease into ¼ finals
Cameroon have qualified for the quarter final of the on-going 2017 Afro-basket tournament in Malian capital Bamako, after defeating Tunisia.
The basketball lionesses won Tunisia by 64 points to 49 on Tuesday.
It was their second victory so far. Cameroon will today face hosts Mali in the last group match.
Also qualified from Pool A are Angola, Mali and Ivory Coast. Tunisia and the Central African Republic are out.
Cameroon will either face Nigeria or Senegal in the quarter final. If the basketball lionesses fall on Senegal, it will be a replay of the 2015 final, where Cameroon lost.
Meanwhile the basketball lions are in Brazil to prepare for the 2017 Men’s Afrobasket tournament. Coach Jean-Claude Ntep and is boys arrived in Sao Paulo in July. So far they have lost two friendlies against Brazil.
The 2017 Men’s Afrobasket tournament takes place in Tunisia and Senegal from the 8th to the 16 of September.
