Africa's 1st Female Elite Coach Appointed Deputy Director at ANAFOOT

Madam Fomum Victorine Agum has been appointed Deputy Director of the training centre of the Cameroon Football Academy-ANAFOOT, according to a communiqué signed 30 August 2017, by its Director Enow Ngatchu.

The Board Chair of ANAFOOT which is former CAF President Issa Hayatou, while Jules Mejime was appointed Deputy Director General.



Victorine Agum Fomum, 43, was born on June 17, 1974 in Bamenda. She started off as a table tennis player, and went on to represent Cameroon at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Her love for football motivated her choice to take up football as her specialty at the Cameroon Institute of Youths and Sports, INJS. 

The certified Physical Education instructor began her coaching career as assistant to Joseph Monthe at Yong sport Academy of Bamenda during the 2007 inter pool competition.

She would later head to Leipzig, Germany for a course to perfect her career. On her return, President Yaya of League 1 side Lausanne FC, appointed her to join his club’s coaching bench.

An article by Press-sport's Sylvain KWAMBI, Madam Fomum is the first African woman to bag Federal A license and as well as CAF license A. This rich portfolio is believed to have motivated her appointment to assist Jean-Pierre Fiala Fiala as coach of Dragon FC of Yaoundé in 2012.

Madam Fomum has coached female clubs namely: Amenda Centre FC, Canon, Diamand, and the University of Buea. Her vast experience will definitely help ANAFOOT achieve its goals.

A separate communiqué also signed 30 August 2017 by the former Cameroon female team coach, University of Buea FC head trainer and President of Fako Divisional Commission for Youth Football, Assongu Azemchop Nicolas, has been appointed south West Regional Coordinator at ANAFOOT. 


A Presidential decree signed on Wednesday 24th May 2017 appointed Carl Enow Ngatchu and Issa Hayatou as Director and Board Chair of ANAFOOT respectively. 



ANAFOOT was created in 2010 to harness and promote professional football in Cameroon.
