Fako Stakeholders Brainstorm for Gainful Youth Championship

A one-week youth championship for Fako Division has been scheduled this month, following a meeting of stakeholders on Monday 7th August, 2017, in Buea.

The meeting which held in Molyko was the very first by the new President of Youth Football for Fako, Asongu Azemchop Nicholas, since he was appointed last month.

After serious deliberations, it was agreed that a one-week Fako Youth Football Championship involving 24 teams will take place this August. 


The youth league to be played in three zones namely: Buea, Tiko and Limbe is expected to take off on the 17th of August, 2017.


Talking to VS, the new president of Youth Football for Fako, Asongu Azemchop Nicholas said, "Well it was necessary to let stakeholders know I am the new president. It was also to identify and talk with them on the stakes. 

It was a good meeting and  I am happy with turnout," Mr Asongu, the head coach of UB FC added.

According to the Secretary General of the commission, Obi Manyo Arrey, the six teams to compete in the Limbe zone include: Njalla Quan S.A., Afal SA, Africa Dreams, Best Stars, FUSSA, and Reconciliation SA.

The Tiko zone will include: GBHS, Cesyl SA, Little Foot, EEMSA, New Stars, Ajax, Arcadia, and Sunshine SA.


The ten teams to compete within the Buea zone include: Lead Consulting FA, CUSA, Atessa FA, Legend Soccer, Dream Stars, Cinyodev, St. Stephens FA, Mt Cameroon, Zion FA, Mountain Stars, and Talented FA from Muyuka. 

Cognizance of their interest to groom futire stars, participants excitingly appreciated the initiative of the Fako Youth Football Commission. Among those present were the representative of Mountain Stars Buea, Wose Stephen, the founder and director of St Stephen FA, Sam Che, Coach Chombong Collins of Legend FA, Enow George of Dream Stars. 


The winners of the youth league will then join champions from Meme, Manyu, Ndian, Kupe Muanenguba, and Lebialem for the divisional finals.

According to a communiqué signed by the National President of Youth Football, Zang Leon Aimé, the Fako commission which also includes Mr Teteh Edwin will be supervised by Sam Nyoki Monono, Nang Ebua Pius and Harrison Itoe Atabe.

They are charged with the development of footballers aged between 10 and 20.
