Cameroon Cup: EEMSA knocked out by DAC
The Eteki Esoh Memorial Sports Academy (EEMSA) of Tiko have been eliminated from the 2017 Cameroon Cup competition, following a 3-1 loss to Douala Athletic Club (DAC Deux Mille).
The delayed cup tie took place on Wednesday 2 August, 2017, at the Omnisport Stadium in Molyko-Buea.
EEMSA’s ill omen started showing pretty early in the first half with great attempts from DAC’s talisman, Francois Nlend, midfielder Etienne Junior, and central forward Simeon Eric Bata.
EEMSA Captain, Lembe Alain, said, "We have lost, and it is normal in football for you can either draw, lose or win. But we were just 18 of us with key players left out due to lack of licenses. We have paid for them and hope the regional officials help us get them".
"We will go back and focus on the regional championship", he added.

Goalkeeper Festus Ebere’s finger tips helped Coach Ekokobe Joseph’s side cling to a goalless tie up to the 42nd minute.
Unfortunately, EEMSA conceded in the 43rd minute following horrible defending by Ngu Michael Ndifor. At half time, it was one for DAC and zero for Memorial.
Eleven minutes after resumption, Francois Nlend who opened scores for the visitors, once more benefitted from a similar error to stretch their lead.
Minutes later, DAC Deux Mille were switched off completely, thanks to tactical changes by Coach Ekokobe Joseph. The tactics paid off as Ngu Michael Ndifor pulled one back at the 75th minute through a punching header.
But celebration was short-lived for the countable home fans as Simeon Eric Bata headed in Frank Fotso’s cross, to seal Coach Abel Nen’s only victory in three outings.
At this time the handwriting was so verily clear on the wall; and as earlier predicted, MTN Elite two outfit, DAC Deux Mille, overpowered EEMSA, and will now proceed to the round of 32.
According to DAC captain, it was an inspiring victory for them following two losses to PWD and Bang Bullets in the League 2. He hoped his team mates will continue to listen to Coach Abel Nen's instructions.
Coach Nen was quite satisfied and said they will rest briefly before tackling the upcoming league encounter with Panthere of Nde.
Coach Ekokobe said, "We have lost and it is a bad day. But license issues keep disturbing our game plan. Our central defender today, Ngu Michael, is actually a defensive midfielder. We had to play him there due to his mate's absence".

All in all, it was a fine football game. This time around, stadium workers did their job well ahead of time to avoid delays. Notwithstanding, the match still kicked off about eighteen minutes late due to identification irregularities.
