Buea Council Inter Quarter Attracts U-23 Lions' Coach

The Assistant Coach of the Under 23 Lions of Cameroon in charge of goalkeepers has watched one of the finals of the on-going Buea Council Inter Quarter Football Cup Competition.

Mr. Ekango George was in the crowd that relished the final of the Buea Central Court Area between Richgang FC of Vasingi and Fans Club Eto’o on Tuesday at the Post & Telecommunications School Field in Buea.

The former goalkeeper of Prisons Buea (1980-83) said he was impressed with the level of performance but was not comfortable with the crooked playground.

“Firstly I came here to laud the initiative of the Mayor of this city, Ekema Patrick. Secondly I came to boost the morale of these players. I think they could do better if the pitch were practicable.”

“You know Cameroon has talented players and I have seen few players who need opportunities to grow,” Mr Ekango added.

Mr. Ekango George is assistant to Mr Richard Towa.

Richgang of Vasingi emerged champions of the Buea Central Court Area, and will be part of the Super Cup which starts on the 28th of August, 2017, at the Omnisport Stadium in Buea.

The Buea Town side clung to a 7th minute goal scored by Oscar Ngembo till the end of the highly attended final at the Post & Telecommunications School Field on Tuesday in Buea.

Even though Fans Club Eto’o were defeated, the Bakweri Town side will be part of the super cup after topping the league.

Captain Egbe Jackson of Fans Club Eto’o was so disappointed with their performance.

Unlike runners up skipper, Luma Ambe of Richgang FC of Vasingi praised his team mates for resilience. To him, the victory gratified more because Vasingi were termed underdogs of the Pool. 

Tuesday’s final was chaired by Mayor Ekema Patrick Esunge.

Note that the final of the Muea Court Area will take place at the CBC Field in Mile 16 on Sunday. Kombo FC are poised for the showdown after butting out Dirty South Molyko 4-3 on post-match penalties. The first semi-final which ended goalles took place on Tuesday.

Meanwhile   Live Score FC of Mile 16 will battle with Mile 14 for the last final ticket Thursday 24 August 2017.

The 7th edition of the Buea Council Inter Quarter Cup Competition will end on the 2nd of September, 2017.
