Cameroon is ready to host the 2019 AFCON-President Biya
The President of the Republic of Cameroon, His Excellency Paul Biya says Cameroon is ready to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
President Paul Biya made the pronouncement on Thursday 10th August 2017, during a state reception offered in honour of Cameroonian athletes who won medals in international sporting events this year.
In the company of his wife, Chantal Biya, Cabinet Ministers, Diplomatic Corps and the entire sports family, the President said Cameroon is a football nation and owes its gratitude to her athletes who have made the country proud in the past five decades.
The Head of State said Cameroon is always ready to stand by her athletes and citizens to fight the course of the nation.
During the reception, 192 athletes were decorated with medals ranging from gold, silver to bronze.
Amongst the recipients, sixty were decorated with gold medals, sixty-four in silver and eighty-eight in bronze.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Wei Wenhua also said he is confident that Cameroon will be ready for the 2019 AFCON football jamboree.

The Chinese diplomat was speaking during a meeting with the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Bidoung Mpkatt on Wednesday 9th August 2017.
The Ambassador said China partly financed and constructed the Limbe and Bafoussam Stadia and will continue to assist whenever necessary.
