Bamboutos Sack Coach Nyongha after Only 73 Days in Charge

Bernard Fotso has been appointed by Club President Justin Tagouh to replace Jules Nyongha as head coach of Bamboutos of Mbouda.

Mr Fotso who was appointed Tuesday 22 August 2017 has already held his first training session with the Mangwa Boys, thereby making Coach Nyongha’s stay brief.

Jules Frédéric Nyongha took over as head coach of the Mangwa Boys on June 10, 2017, after a long absence on the pitch, and has since managed 11 games.

The decision to relieve the 71-year-old Nyongha of his functions is not a surprise after rumours emerged last week claiming he had been fired.

He is the third coach to have been sacked by the Mbouda side this season following earlier exits by Laurent Djam and Joseph Atangana.

Mr. Nyongha who has had over three coaching spells with the indomitable lions is currently receiving treatment following a motor bike accident on Sunday 20 August in Douala.

The accident occurred shortly after their 0-0 draw with Astres, as he left the team bus to buy from a Shopping Mall.

Latest reports say both players and supporters of the club are receiving Coach Bernard with mixed feelings.

Bamboutos of Mbouda are currently on the 7th spot with 38 points in the ongoing MTN ELite 1 championship.

The Mangwa Boys have been desperately looking for a trophy since joining League 1 in 2014.
