Dependable Boateng Shocks Las Palmas with Contractual U-turn

According to UD Las Palmas, Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has withdrawn his contract for personal issues, and is set to leave.

Bad news indeed for The islanders who announced on their official web page on Wednesday 16 August 2017 that the 30-year-old has reached an agreement to rescind his contract with the club.

"The player will hold a press conference at Estadio Gran Canaria, at 17.00 hours this evening alongside president Miguel Ángel Ramírez when he will bid farewell to the fans", Las Palmas' statement read.

However, Volcanic Sports understands the midfielder will be looking for a new club where he will be closer to his family. We have also learned that Boateng is a potential Frankfurt signing.

Boateng had only renewed his contract with Las Palmas in May, signing a deal which would have kept him at the club until 2020 but he is now leaving for 'personal issues'.

Boateng who joined Las Palmas after an unsuccessful stint at AC Milan, helped the club finish 14th last season with 39 points. He scored 10 goals in 28 appearances for Las Palmas including one his debut.

Besides his stint at AC Milan from 2010 to 2013 that included a Serie A title, Boateng has also played for Hertha Berlin, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Portsmouth and Schalke.

Boateng also won the Italian Super Cup in 2011 with AC Milan.
