CHAN 2018 Qualifiers: Eto’o called up by R. Song

David Eto'o, the younger brother of Samuel Eto’o Fils, is among 39 pre-selected players by the head coach of Cameroon’s Domestic Lions ahead of 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) playoffs.



Since returning from injury in 2015, 29-year-old David Eto'o has been playing for one of Cameroon's top flight club Union Douala.

Cameroon will face Sao Tome and Principe home and away starting on the 12th of August 2017 in Sao Tome.

This information is contained in a release signed by Coach Rigobert Song published on Friday 14, 2017, in Yaoundé. The local players called up are expected in the capital city from 17 July for training.

All League One clubs are represented in Rigobert Song’s team but for Racing of Bafoussam and Lion Blesse´ of Fotouni.

Four players are from league leaders Eding Sport of the Lekie. Two of the players are from MTN Elite 2 clubs namely Avion of Nkam and PWD Bamenda.

Talking about David Eto’o, the right winger is a familiar face within the ranks of the Junior Lions having featured 16 times scoring thrice.

The Kadji Sport Academy offspring and former RCD Mallorca B forward played for several clubs in Europe before engaging with President Frank Hapi’s Union Sportive in 2011.
