Player Drops Dead as Death Haunts S.W. Sports Family

A former Victoria United Player, Ashur Martin, has dropped dead aged 44, as a stubborn death spirit continues to haunt the football family of Fako Division, located in the South West Region of Cameroon.

He is reported to have passed away on Wednesday July 5, 2017, after collapsing in front of his home at 2 pm local time.


The 44-year-old who died as an acting football coach used to live in the Gardens neighbourhood of Limbe.


According to a social media obituary posted by Eden Radio reporter Dinga George, Ashur Martins collapsed shortly after conducting a training session with Top Cup players at the Limbe Community Field.


The mortal remains of the former Mount Cameroon and PWD Bamenda player are lying at the Limbe Regional Hospital Mortuary awaiting burial.

He who was not married leaves behind a child, relatives, colleagues, friends and others to mourn him. Tributes are being poured on social media platforms for the deceased.

This is happening just five days after former international referee Michael Ekoka Wacka passed on to glory. The entire football family of the South West now has three deaths to deal with including the late Zachary Nkwo.
