Why Franck Kom Retreats from Bundesliga to Tunisia

After a lackluster season at German division two side Karlsruher SC, Cameroon international Franck Kom prefers a return to the Tunisian Championship where he starred with Etoile.

Franck Kom arrived in Tunis on Thursday July 6, 2017, and was tensely welcomed by officials of both his former club Etoile du Sahel and Esperance, with Etoile hoping to recapture him.

Tunisian media report that the former Panthere of Nde player finally concluded a three-year contract with Esperance of Tunis, to the detriment of Etoile.  The free transfer takes him to June 30, 2020.

His single season with Karlsruher SC, a German second division club was not good. The 26-year-old featured in 13 matches without scoring.

Since January this year, the midfielder has not earned a place with the indomitable Lions of Cameroon. It is believed that Hugo Broos preferred Franck Boya to Kom when he was making his AFCON 2017 squad.

The former Etoile du Sahel player who began his career in Bangante, west region of Cameroon has won 14 international caps since making his debut for the indomitable lions on 10th September 2014.
