Francophonie Games: Jih Kalvin Not Among 25 Lions

25 players have been called up as the Under 20 selection of Cameroon tackle the 8th Francophonie games, Abidjan 2017. 


The following is a list of 25 players plus four of the waiting list.

The list was handed to the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) on Thursday 29th June 2017 by Coach OUSMANOU Christophe Bonaventure.

Former Best Stars Limbe striker, Jih Kalvin, who was part of the squad at the fruitless Under 20 Africa Cup Nations in Zambia has been relegated  to the waiting list. He is accompanied by three others as follows:

2-JIH KALVIN KETU   (ALCOBENDAS LEVITT CF, ESPAGNE)

3-TCHAMBA BANGOU DUPLEXE   (RACING CLUB DE STRASBOURG, FRANCE)

4-KEVIN SONI OLIVER (PAU FC, France)

According to FECAFOOT, the list was actually compiled by Coach OUSMANOU Christophe Bonaventure on the 27th of June, 2017.
The players are expected at the FELIDAC Hotel in Yaoundé with their passports.

About the hosts

After Rabat and Casablanca (Morocco, 1989), Paris (France, 1994), Antananarivo (Madagascar, 1997), Ottawa and Hull (Canada, Canada-Quebec, 2001), Niamey (Niger, 2005), Beirut (Lebanon, 2009), soon Nice (France, 2013), Côte d'Ivoire are the next hosts. 

The 2017 Francophonie games will take place in its capital city Abidjan. 

The competition was designed to promote peace and development through meetings and exchanges among young francophones. Its objective is also to reconcile member states of La Francophonie, and ensure international solidarity with regards to gender equality among others.

The disciplines involved in this competition include: Athlétics, Basketball, Football, Handisport, Judo, Wrestling, Tennis and Cycling. This year’s edition will run from the 21st to the 30th of July 2017.
