Inter-City Basketball: Devils Mesmerize Youthful Mindset

Molyko Devils on Thursday 20 July, 2017, humbled the much younger New Mindset basketball club by 54 points to 30, as the South West Inter City Basketball Challenge entered day two in Buea.

Devils dominated throughout the quarters with mask man Batuo Allen scoring 18 points from outside and inside the ring. 

Captained by Enow Brice who produced 11 points, New Mindset struggled to close the gap but inexperience and lack of accuracy marred their efforts.

Talking to Volcanic Sports, Captain of Molyko Devils Zedong Steve said, “We have started, and I am happy we won. It wasn’t easy for us because we didn’t train and the weather too". 

“New Mindset played well but our experience and strength triumphed. Our next opponents, we will tackle them the same way”, Zedong added.

Enow Brice, the Captain of New Mindset said the game was difficult for them and they would fight hard in the next game.

“I learned so much from Devils and also hope that my team mates take to our coaches’ instructions”, Enow concluded.

9 am: New Mindset v Kumba Revolution

12 noon: Tiko Monsters v Molyko Devils

2 pm: Buea Town Legends v Kumba Revolution

Venue: Molyko Sports Complex Buea.


The 2017 Inter City basketball tournament was launched on Wednesday with The Legends defeating Tiko Monsters by 68 points to 42 in the inaugural match of the five-team competition.
