Africa’s 3rd Best Shaping up for 2019 World Cup
From the
1st of April through the 9th, 2019, the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon will
take part in an international friendly tournament billed for China.
The trip makes
for the first competitive phase of Cameroon’s preparations ahead of this year’s
FIFA Women’s World Cup – France 2019.
The finals
have been scheduled to take place from 7th June to the 7th
of July.
While in
China, Alain Djeumfa’s ladies will face their counterparts of China, Russia and
Croatia.
Meanwhile
the team is in its third camping, at the CAF Excellence Training Centre in Mbankomo
–Yaoundé, Cameroon.
According
to Coach Joseph Ndoko’s successor, the bronze winners at the 2018 African Women’s
Cup of Nations in Ghana, will play about five more international warm-ups in
May.
Cameroon are
grouped with Canada, Netherlands and New Zealand for the upcoming World Cup finals.
The Christine Manie-led side will confront
Canada in a first outing on the 10th of June in Stade de la Mosson,
Montpellier.
In 2015, under
former trainer – Enow Ngatchu, the lionesses ended at the 8th finals, following
a 1-0 loss to China.
