Erve Marcel Djiokeng

Erve Marcel Djiokeng, one-time player of southwest division two outfit, Little Foot, died on Sunday 16th July 2017, after collapsing at the Catholic School Field in Mutengene.

The 31-year-old defensive midfielder who was based in Mutengene is reported to have collapsed to death during a routine morning keep-fit session.

The death of the former Little Foot Captain was reportedly announced in the afternoon following the unfortunate incident at 7:35 a.m. local time, sources say.

All efforts made by the players and medics of the Regina Pacis Hospital could not bring Marcel back to life.

Talking to Volcanic Sports, club President Mr Nouk Protus said, "We are still in shock! In fact it is so disheartening after I learned he even attended Little Foot's training the previous day to encourage the team".

"He was a calm and gentle young man who hardly made noise", Mr Nouk added.
