Goalkeeper Ndy Assembe 'leaves' the pitch
Cameroon international goalkeeper Guy Roland N’dy Assembe has been
ruled out for over six months after sustaining injury at training.
The 31-year-old keeper is reported to have suffered a knee injury
during training with his club FC Nancy on Tuesday July 4, 2017, in France.
The club’s official site said Assembe was to undergo an operation later
that day by Doctor
Nicolas
Hummer at polyclinique de Gentilly.
President
Jacques Rousselot’s AS
Nancy-Lorraine will now depend on substitutes: Belarus international, Sergey
Chernik, and the young Hugo Constant who has just been integrated.
Even
with injury, the future of goalkeeper Guy Roland N’dy Assembe is unknown after
his contract at the Ligue 2 club ended in June. Reports claim he has been
contacted by newly promoted Ligue Un side Racing club de Strasbourg.
In
December 2016, French famous sports newspaper L’Equipe reported how various
European clubs were showing interest in the shot-stopper.
The
report further enumerated that a Spanish club, two Turkish sides and two
Championship sides were considering a move for the former Guingamp keeper.
