Basketball: Volcanic Warriors’ Achiri earns national call
The captain of Volcanic Warriors
Ladies Buea, Achiri Fri Hedris, has been called up to join the basketball
lionesses who are preparing for the upcoming Francophonie games and the Africa
Basketball championship in September 2017.
According to the Warriors’ Coach,
Ifose Emile Mbella, the promising Buea-based basketball player arrived in
Yaoundé on Sunday, for the camp which had to begin on Thursday last week.
Achiri Fri, a Catholic University of
Buea student started her basketball career with the Volcanic Warriors in 2007,
in Yaounde before rejoining its Fako base.

She helped the University of Buea win a silver medal at the 2014 Varsity Games in Douala. She holds a FIBA Young Coaches Certificate, and apart from leading Volcanic Warriors ladies, she is the Assistant cCoach of the men’s team.
According to a communiqué signed by
the Secretary General of Cameroon’s Basketball Federation, Camille Njoh Ekitti,
on 27th June, 2017, the following players have been called up:

The
players are between 18 and 25 years old.
The
supervisory technical team comprises of head coach Moudio Guy assisted by Steffano
Bizozzi. Goukouni Henri is the fitness coach while Doctor Temgoua Serge is the
medical officer.
The 8th Francophonie games
will take place from the 21st to 28tht of July 2017 in Abidjan.
