Siewe Resigns as Union D'la Coach
Joseph Diallo Siewe has reigned as the head coach of Union Sportive of Douala.
Mr. Siewe announced his resignation Tuesday July 11, 2017, during a press conference organized in the economic capital.
Les Nassara Gamakai trainer said he was resigning for professional reasons even though other sources say he clashed with President Frank Hapi shortly before their 2-0 loss to Yong sports Academy of Bamenda on match day 21.
"... the job of Union Coach needs concentration whereas I have numerous professional assignments...yesterday I was U-15 Lions' Coach, and today I am in charge of the U-17 Lions, it's a complex responsibility for me, I want to concentrate..." Siewe told reporters.
The former director of Samuel Eto’o’s Fundesport Academy was appointed to the helm of Union in 2014.
Les Nassara Gamakai are currently on the 10th position with 28 points.
His resignation comes on the eve of a crucial derby against city rivals Astres also known as the Brazilians of Bepanda. Deputy coach Agbor Ernest will lead the technical bench during the Wednesday July 12, 22nd-day derby.
