Friendly: U-20 Lionesses trounce Ita-Mbong of Nkambe 18-1

Cameroon’s U-20 female selection have humiliated Ita-Mbong of Nkambe 18-1 in a friendly played on Saturday 21 October, 2017, at the Omnisport stadium in Yaoundé.

The Under 20 Lionesses have been in camp since the 18th of October in prelude to a second round FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifier tie against Sierra Leone.

Yesterday’s encounter was festival of goals for the girls coached by Alain Djeumfa. Cameroon beat Guinea Conakry 9-0 in the last round of qualifiers. It was an easy progress after the Guineans withdrew from the return leg in Yaoundé weeks ago.

The 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup will be the 9th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, the biennial international women's youth football championship contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA. 

The tournament will be held in France, who will also host the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup a year later.

Africa's qualifiers for U-20 Women's World Cup started on 21 July 2017 and just two teams will qualify for France 2018.

The favourites areNigeria who have never missed an U-20 Women’s World Cup. 

The other slot appears destined for Ghana, who have starred in the last four U-20 tournaments, and who will likely have to overcome the significant hurdle of Cameroon should they wish to make it five in a row.
