African Men's Volleyball: Cameroon Squeeze into semis after 5-setter win
Cameroon needed 123 minutes to set a five set victory over fighting Libya (27-25, 22-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-9) to clinch the third semifinal ticket after Tunisia and Algeria in the 2017 Men's African Nations Championship at Cairo Stadium Complex in Egypt on Thursday.
Cameroon face the winner of last semifinal between Egypt and Rwanda on Friday while losers Libya play for 5 to 8 places.
Cameroon played a great first and succeeded to clinch the win narrowly 27-25, before the Libyan team recovered quickly to win the second set 25-22 and draw 1-1.
Again, Cameroon rebounded back with their tight service and block to advance 2-1 before Libya again draw 2-2. In the tiebreak, the Libyan team was fatigued to lose crucial points as Cameroon went through to capture the semifinal ticket.
