Cup-winning Laurent Djam Leaves New Stars Douala

Former Bamboutos trainer Bernard Fotso has been appointed to replace Laurent Djam as the coach of New Stars FC of Douala, football writer Angu Lesley has posted.

After helping the Littoral club to win the 2017 Cup of Cameroon (their first trophy since 2008), Coach Laurent Georges Djam revealed his intentions to move on.

The move is somewhat a coincidence for both coaches given that Laurent Djam also left from Bamboutos to New Stars FC.

Last October, Bernard Fotso was fired as head coach of Bamboutos less than three months after his appointment.

But Mr Fotso refused to leave immediately claiming he was owed by Bamboutos President, Justin Tagou.

Bernard Fotso had been appointed to replace Jules Nyongha as coach of the Mangwa Boys.

Bernard Fotso who managed Feutcheu FC of Bandjoun in 2016 will be assisted by Wamba Petit Michel at New Stars.

New Stars will participate in the upcoming CAF Confed Cup.
