SWRL: EEMSA Put Vice Champions to the Sword
2016 finalists Mount Cameroon FC may miss this year's 8th finals (also known as mini inter pools) after they were defeated for the first time at home this season.
The Lava Boys were beaten 1-0 on Thursday by visiting Elame Esoh Memorial Sports Academy, EEMSA, in the last but one Group B match of the South West regional championship.
Ndifor Michael Ngum scored at the 20th minute to give EEMSA the lead. The Tiko side were able to defend till full time.
EEMSA have wounded Mount Cameroon's pride given that the first leg ended 2-2 in Tiko.
Ekokobe Joseph, the head coach of EEMSA praised his players, management and supporters of the club. The tactician hoped for a ticket in the 8th finals ahead of their home fixture to Leopards FC of Menji.
He however appreciated Mount Cameroon for a strong fight, noting that they had lost because of their numerous ageing players.

Talking to Volcanic Sports, Coach Ache Ebenezer of Mount Cameroon said he was disappointed by match officials and his players. To him all hope is not yet lost despite dropping to 3rd place behind EEMSA with 18 points.
But pressure is evidently weighing on the 2002 Cameroon Cup champions, who play away to UB FC on Sunday.
