Afrobasket 1/4 finals: Lions to roar against D'Tigers

Cameroon will face neighbours and defending champions Nigeria in one of the quarter final fixtures at the on-going FIBA AfroBasket tournament in Senegal.

Meeting D’Tigers is the biggest test for the basketball lions who outplayed Guinea and Rwanda to qualify.

Cameroon and Nigeria have met in the FIBA AfroBasket six times. They have two wins each and two losses apiece.

The last time Cameroon made it to the Semi-Finals was in 2009 in Libya and the Lions feel this is the moment to replicate that.

Morocco will challenge Egypt, Tunisia face the DRC while Senegal battle with Angola.

All the quarter final matches take place today. The semi-final will be played on Friday with the grand finale slated Saturday 16th September.

The 29th edition of Men’s AfroBasket tournament is jointly hosted by Tunisia and Senegal.

TALENTS TO WATCH: Ike Diogu, Ikechukwu Nwamu and Ikenna Iroegbu (Nigeria). Benoit Mbala, Adala Moto and Felix Bogmis (Cameroon).
