FIFA U-20 Women WCQ: Cameroon into 2nd Round as Guinea Conakry Decline

The Under 20 Lionesses of Cameroon have gained an automatic qualification into the second round of the FIFA Under 20 World Cup qualifiers, after Guinea Conakry declined from attending a return leg trip to Cameroon.

The Cameroon Football federation says it received a notification from the Guinea FA on Monday 25 September, 2017, announcing their unavailability for the return leg match initially scheduled for Saturday September 30, 2017, at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé.

Cameroon, who beat the Guineans 9-0 in the first leg played in Conakry, have automatically qualified for the second round qualifiers.

The 2018 Under 20 Women’s World Cup will be hosted by France.

According to FECAFOOT, the Under 20 Lionesses will face Sierra Leone in November for the next round of qualifiers.
