Former UMS & New Stars Coach Adolphe Ekeh dies aged 57
The former coach of top flight clubs UMS of Loum and New Stars of Douala, Adolphe Ekeh has passed away aged 57.
Reports hold that he gave up the ghost on Wednesday September 6, 2017, in Yaounde after a prolonged illness which displaced him from the economic capital in February this year.
Mr Ekeh made an incredible run last year as manager of Union des Mouvements Sportifs in the Cameroon Premier League, beating heavyweights Coton Sport to win the 2016 edition.
During his coaching career, he also managed Olympique de Mvolyé, Tonnerre Kalara Club, Djerem de Bertoua, Cyntra de Yaoundé, Fédéral du Noun, Union de Douala, Cosmos du Mbam, Racing de Bafoussam (where he lifted the 1996 Cup of Cameroon) and New Stars of Douala.
While at New Stars, he worked with Dibango Mboumoua (sports director), Kemmogne (assistant coach), Daniel Nleb Mbena (goalkeeper trainer) and Joseph Kameni (fitness coach).
Adolphe Ekeh also handled the male U-17 national selection of Cameron in 2006.
