Ronaldo, Messi & Ramos nominated for 2017 Golden Foot award
Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo feature amongst the finalists for the 2017 Golden Foot award. This annually presented accolade, which was launched in 2003, recognises the top-performing player aged over 28, who stands out on account of their sporting achievements, both individually and on a team level.
Taking their places in the 10-man shortlist alongside the Real Madrid duo are Neuer, Casillas, Messi, Robben, Thiago Silva, Luis Suárez, Yaya Touré and Andrea Pirlo.
The historic winners of this distinction are: Roberto Baggio (2003), Nedved (2004), Shevchenko (2005), Ronaldo (2006), Del Piero (2007), Roberto Carlos (2008), Ronaldinho (2009), Totti (2010), Giggs (2011), Ibrahimovic (2012), Drogba (2013), Iniesta (2014), Eto’o (2015) and Buffon (2016).
