The 23-year-old ex-UMS defender was spotted Sunday 4 February 2018 at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium, playing for the 2017 Cameroon Cup champions against Bamboutos FC of Mbouda. Bawak helped the Douala side beat the Mangwa Boys 1-0.
But before then, Bamboutos of Mbouda had walloped Best Stars of Limbe 5-1 in the first preparatory game of the day at the Molyko Ground.
Talking to volcanic Sports, the prolific full-back said,
“It is a surprise you know, football is like that. You move from one team to another. I signed ever since but told them not to publish because my focus then was on the 2018 CHAN.
“The game wasn’t very interesting because it was my first match with New Stars.
Quizzed on the 2018 CHAN where Cameroon couldn’t win a match, the deputy captain for the Intermediate Lions said, “we were simply unlucky because we had chances but couldn’t score. I think we have to continue preparing for 2020 in Ethiopia.”
New Satsr who are now managed by Coach Bernard Fotso will be involved in preliminary CAF Cup clash this weekend in Limbe against Deportivo Niefang of Equatorial Guinea in Limbe.
