FECAFOOT rubbishes Opopo protest against New Stars FC

FECAFOOT says eligibility claims by Opopo over New Stars Coach, Laurent Georges Djam & goalkeeper Israel Kologni Kologni are unfounded.

The Douala Club is now free to carry on with preparations for the Cameroon Cup final against UMS of Loum.

According to a French-language release by FECAFOOT 16 November 2017, the Appeals Commission found out that goalkeeper Israel Kologni Kologni’s contract with Bamboutos ended during the 2014-2015 football season, and was not renewed. Again, the player did not participate in Bamboutos activities in the following season.

Unlike the goalkeeper, Coach Laurent Djam was still on contract at the time he left the Mbouda club. But the decision signed by President MAZOU ABDOULAYE shows that someone was duly authorized by Bamboutos Management to liberate both player and Coach.

Consequently, the 2-0 semifinal score in favour of New Stars has been maintained. The Douala Club is now free to carry on with preparations for the Cameroon Cup final against UMS of Loum.
