NBA STAR, MBAH LUC A MOUTE, ARRIVES BUEA: VISITS CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE
Cameroonian
born National Basketball Association (NBA) star, Richard Mbah Luc A Moute, arrived
in Buea on Friday May ahead of Saturday’s pre-selection of basketball
youngsters for his basketball camp in the US.
Luc
plays with the Sixers basketball club in Philadelphia. He started playing with
the Cameroonian basketball team in 2007. The 29-year-old has created a grooming
basketball camp in the US which obliges him visit his country yearly to scout
basketball talents. Meanwhile, Luc paid the Catholic University Institute of
Buea a courtesy visit on Friday before supervising the pre-selection activity
the following day at the Molyko Sports Complex.

athletes aged between 12 and 18 were finally retained for further screening in
Yaoundé. According to the president of the south west federation basketball,
Efose Emile Mbella, about 12 athletes from the region will make up part of the
team to fly to the USA, and that the 12 will be known by June.
Talking
to sports reporters at the end of the event Luc said, “They got great ideas but are
lacking in techniques of the game. I think they need good equipment such as balls,
good courts and other training equipment”.
The
exercise will continue in other regions of Cameroon including the Wesr, North
West, Littoral, Far North and Centre.
