DEFENDING CHAMPIONS BEST STARS FC OF LIMBE SET TO KILL
The
2014-2015 south west regional football league has kicked off with last year’s
champions, Best Stars of Limbe, sending electrocuting messages to teams in Pool
B after stunning EEMSA FC 5-0 in the opening ceremony in Tiko on Sunday May 10.
The
kick off was done at 3 p.m. by the regional president of the normalization
committee, Barrister Ashu Ntangtang T., accompanied by a host of top-ranking
officials. The game drew a mammoth crowd made up of Tiko inhabitants, children,
supporters and football lovers from other parts of the region especially Limbe
and Buea.
Best
Stars dominated the game from start to finish scoring in the first minute
following poor performance from the panicky EEMSA goalkeeper. The early goal
separated both sides till halftime. Failure by EEMSA to step up play inspired
Best Stars who scored 4 goals in the second segment to seal their brilliant
start.

At
press time, Coach Ayuk Basil of EEMSA blamed his loss on indiscipline meanwhile
Coach Njofack Saturin of Best Stars said, “You know we were champions last year, we
have to work hard to defend it. We are
very prepared after doing a lot of ground work and also want to go beyond our
level last year”.
The
rest of the matches counting the first day of play come up Wednesday May 13.
The top match pits last year’s finalist, Treviso FC of Kumba, and Kumba Lakers
FC, in what promises to be a cracking local derby.
