The stakes of the Bamboutos coaching job

Bamboutos of Mbouda have named a new coach only 10 days into the 2017-2018 elite championship season. According to reliable reports, Coach Charlemagne Mbongo was relieved of his functions while at training Tuesday morning in Douala, and unofficially replaced by winner of the competition last season with Eding Sport of the Lekie, Anicet Mbarga Foe.

Anicet Mbarga Foe says he is still in talks with Bamboutos

Sources close to the Mangwa Boys say though the announcement has been made, Mr Foe hasn't officially signed to replace Coach Mbongo Charlemagne who has been promoted as technical director. Mr Mbongo is said to be paying the price for poor results, with the club ranked 9th on the league table with 13 points.

This move has once more unraveled the west regional giants' quest for the title, a dream they haven't realised since their inception more than five decades ago.

Charlemagne Mbongo expected to accept new post
During the 2014-2015 campaign, the Mbouda club fired more than 10 coaches including a Portuguese, but all didn't end well. This season, the club have chosen the Molyko omnisport stadium Buea as home ground, following AFCON 2019 works at their base in the west region.

However, they have played over two home games in Dschang, plus the 1-1 draw with Coton Sport in Limbe last Sunday. A rolling stone they say gathers no moss.
