The former Lions’
captain and all-time leading AFCON scorer will be moving to join Turkish club
Antalyaspors.
The Milliyet Italian newspaper
reports reports that the new president of Antalyaspors, Gultekin Gencer, is finalizing
the dissolution of the striker’s contract with Sampdoria officials.
Cameroon-based website
further claims that Sampdoria president is not hesitant, describing Eto’o as a

Eto’o’s fans
say he has been flying without
Eto’o joined Sampdoria just
last season (2014-2015) after a brief stay with Everton. Before moving to
Everton, Eto’o had braved a challenging loan spell at Chelsea fresh from
Russian club. Some of his fans are not happy that they don’t have a steady club
to sport due to his mobility, but some of them think that he is on the decline
and needs to eploit opportunities that will beef up his bank accounts.
After appearing 35
times and netting 12 goals for the blues, many clubs across Europe including
Liverpool, Sunderland, West Ham United and Everton showed interest in the
Cameroonian international. Liverpool snobbed Eto’o due to his high salary
demand choosing Balotelli whom they thought would make do with his teeming
youthfulness.
Eto’o played 18 games
with Sampdoria scoring twice. This reporter thinks that Eto’o is aging and
should grab the opportunities that he has so long as they will swell his
pockets.
