FC Rennes eye Toko Ekambi

Cameroon media report that France’s Ligue Un club Stade Rennais are seeking the services of Cameroonian international and FC Angers striker Karl Toko Ekambi.

L'Equipe has also reported on a close contact between Stade Rennais and the 24-year-old winger.  This season, Karl Toko played 31 games, registering 7 goals in French Ligue 1.

The Breton club seems serious this time around having failed to secure the former Paris FC and Sochaux man last winter. However it will require extraneous efforts given that Toko Ekambi is under contract at Angers until June 2020.

Notwithstanding, reports further indicate that if Rennes fail to purchase 2017 AFCON champion, they could divert their attention to 24-year-old Famara Diédhiou of  Championship side Bristol.

Karl Toko was part of the Cameroonian squad that recorded a premature exit at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. On the 1st of July 2016, Toko joined Angers from FC Sochaux.
